Stirling Dynamics – UK
Organisation profile: Stirling Dynamics provides mechatronic systems and specialist engineering design services for the aerospace and defence, space, marine and energy sectors. From offices in the UK and US, Stirling Dynamics delivers world-leading technologies and engineering capabilities to a global customer base enhanced by a growing network of international partners providing in-country support. In the renewable sector, Stirling has a good relationship with Vestas, as both companies are jointly involved in a range of activities through the UK Aerodynamics Centre at Cranfield. Additionally Stirling sits on the Industrial Advisory Board for Engineering Non-Linearity, the other partners of which include operators in offshore wind like GL Gerrad Hassan and Romex.
Role in the project: Responsible for input into WP1 for end-user requirements. They will also assist in selecting the pilot site to carry out the field trials and validation of the developed systems, and assist with the exploitation route.
Reasons for participating: Stirling Dynamics believes that its vast aerodynamics domain knowledge will add great value to the project. At the same time, this project will help them further penetrate the renewables market, which is in line with their company strategy.
